Equipment You’ll Need To Make The Halloween Oreo Truffles

  • Measuring cup
  • Food processor
  • Plastic gloves
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

How To Make The Bat Oreo Balls Halloween Treats

Prepare your baking sheet – Line with parchment paper.

Make the wings – Open 6 Oreos and remove the cream filling. Break each cookie in half, so you have small wing-shaped pieces. Set aside.

Crush the cookies – Add 24 Oreos to a food processor and pulse into fine crumbs. Measure out ¼ cup of crumbs and set aside for rolling. If you don’t have a food processor, you can put the cookies in a bag and crush them with a rolling pin. Be sure to get them to small crumbs.

Mix the filling – In a medium bowl, combine the remaining Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese. Beat until fully combined.

Shape the balls – Using plastic gloves, roll the mixture into 12 even balls.

Coat in crumbs – Roll each ball in the reserved ¼ cup of Oreo crumbs until evenly coated. Place on the baking sheet.

Add the wings – Gently press one Oreo wing into each side of the ball.

Add the eyes – Press two candy eyeballs into the front of each bat.

Chill – Refrigerate for 1 hour, or until firm, before serving.

Tips for the Best Bat Oreo Balls

  • Chill the Oreo mixture for 10–15 minutes before rolling if it feels too soft.
  • Use a dab of cream cheese as “glue” if the eyes don’t stick.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • Can be frozen (without wings) for up to 1 month. Just add the wings and eyes after thawing.
