Halloween is my ABSOLUTE favorite holiday! I love making spooky Halloween treats to give to friends and family. These raw meat rice krispies are so easy to make and the people you give them to will think they're the coolest Halloween dessert they've ever seen. It's pretty crazy how much these raw meat rice crispy treats look like real raw meat! IF YOU WANT TO USE THE SAME LABELS I HAVE HERE, YOU CAN GRAB THOSE IN MY SHOP AND I ALSO HAVE SOME EDITABLE ONES SO YOU CAN MAKE UP YOUR OWN FUNNY MEAT NAMES TOO! The trick to perfect raw meat rice krispies treats is to use enough butter and get the ratio of marshmallow mixture and cereal right. If you mess those up, your rice crispy raw meat will be hard instead of a nice gooey texture. Follow my recipe and you'll be good to go. Also, don't make too big of a batch. Once these are mixed together, you have to work pretty quickly to get them in the meat trays. If you have too much mixture, it will set up in the pan and be impossible to form into any kind of shape. Ingredients For Raw Meat Rice Krispies Treats For Halloween: 6 Cups of Crispy Rice Cereal 2 (10 oz.) Bags of Mini Marshmallows (20 oz. total) 1 Cup of Red Velvet Cake Mix (I used Pillsbury, but any will do) 1/2 Cup (1 Stick) of Butter Raw Meat Rice Krispies Labels (I have premade ones and editable raw meat labels) Red Food Coloring And Maple Syrup or Honey (optional) Gummy Worms (optional) Meat Trays (I found mine at my local Kroger store. Some Dollar Tree stores sell them too.) If you can't find meat trays, you can always try asking the meat department at your local grocery store if you can buy some or they may even give them to you. Plastic Wrap or Shrink Wrap How To Make Raw Meat Rice Krispies Add the butter and marshmallows to a large pot. Melt the butter and marshmallows on low temp until it's all melty and gooey. Add the red velvet cake mix and stir together until well combined and smooth. Turn off the heat and pour in the rice krispies cereal and mix until all the cereal is coated in the marshmallow mixture. You'll have to work quickly now to put the raw meat rice krispie mixture into the meat trays. Use a large spoon to spoon the rice crispy raw meat mixture into the tray and then form it into the shape you want with your hands. You can make it into a mound or patties. Once you've shaped it how you like, you can add gummy worms or other creepy candy to it. I added some small plastic spiders to mine that weren't edible. If you do that, make sure your friends and family know they're not to be eaten. You can also mix red food coloring into honey or maple syrup to make a bloody look and drizzle it around your meat tray. Be careful not to get too much on the actual raw meat rice krispies or they could get soggy. Try to keep it around the raw meat on the tray mostly. Shrink wrap or plastic wrap the meat trays and add your rice krispie raw meat labels. If you have trouble getting your plastic wrap pulled tightly, you can use some tape on the bottom of your tray to hold it in place once you've pulled it tight. ***NOTE: If you are tempted to add red food coloring to your mixture, you can, but please be cautious with the amount that you use or your raw meat rice krispies treats may have a weird taste from too much food coloring. In my opinion, the red velvet cake mix gives the perfect raw meat color without using any food coloring, but you be the judge. This recipe makes 8 meat trays with a nice mound in the center. If you completely fill the tray, you'll get less trays per recipe. How To Use The Raw Meat Rice Krispies Labels If you purchase my raw meat rice krispies labels from my shop, they're very easy to use. I designed them to be used with any full sheet of sticker paper or full page shipping labels which you can get on Amazon or at office supply stores. I have premade Halloween raw meat labels or editable labels for raw meat rice krispies. On the editable labels, the design can't be changed but all of the text elements can. You can add your own meat name, price per pound, weight, use by date and total price. These are also great if you aren't in the U.S. because you can change the dollar sign to your own money sign. You will need a computer to edit these. Mobile devices won't work. All you have to do is print the raw meat labels onto the sticker paper and cut them out with scissors. Then stick them on your raw meat rice krispies treats packaging. How To Store Your Raw Meat Rice Krispies Treats If you're making your raw meat rice krispies ahead of time for a party or work favor, I would recommend putting the meat trays inside of zipper bags to keep them gooey and fresh until the big day. Make them only a day or two in advance. Any longer than that and you run the risk of having hard and crunchy rice krispie treats (and nobody likes that!) We want to spook our friends and family, but not break their teeth :) If you have extra raw meat rice crispy treats left after your party, you can freeze them for up to a month in an airtight container or freezer bag. When you're ready to use them, let them thaw on the counter until soft.
