How To Make The Halloween Chocolate Dipped Oreos Jack O’ Lantern Cookies
Start by placing parchment paper onto a cookie sheet, and set aside.
Place the orange candy melts into a microwave-safe bowl, melting in 30-second increments, stirring after each. Once melted, dip the Oreos in the orange candy melts, being sure to shake off any excess, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Continue with the desired number of cookies. Let them sit for a few minutes to allow the orange chocolate to set.
Place the chocolate candy melts into a microwave-safe bowl and melt in 30-second increments, stirring after each. Once melted, spoon into a piping bag and cut off a small tip. Then pipe a jack o’ lantern face onto the chocolate-covered cookie. Continue until all of the Oreos are decorated. Be careful not to get the chocolate too hot or it will burn your hand.

Let set and enjoy!

Cassie’s Tips For Working With Candy Melts
- I like to use candy melts rather than chocolate chips because they come in a variety of colors and they are easier to work with.
- When microwaving the candy melts be sure to check on them every 30 seconds or less to avoid the candy becoming too hot and seizing up.
- Heating in a plastic bowl will give better results than a glass or ceramic bowl because the glass and ceramic get very hot in the microwave and can cause uneven heating of the candy melts.
- If your candy melts get too hot and seize, you can try adding a little coconut oil to them to attempt to smooth out the chocolate. The coconut oil will also set up at room temperature and won’t affect the setting of the chocolate.
- If the candy melts seize too much, you may have to throw them out and start over.
