How To Make Cookie Dough Frosted Christmas Holiday Cupcakes

Ingredients you’ll need:

  • 1 1/4 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup of Powdered Sugar
  • 1 Cup Butter Room Temperature
  • 3/4 Cup Brown Packed Sugar (light or dark is fine)
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Tablespoons of Milk
  • 1/2 Cup of Chocolate Chips
  • Mini Christmas M&Ms
  • Edible Icing Christmas Cupcake Toppers
  • 8 Pre-made Cupcakes, Chocolate or Vanilla (cooled)

Step By Step Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

2. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and spread the flour evenly across the parchment paper.

3. Bake the flour for 5 minutes, let it sit for a few minutes to cool down completely. Keep an eye on it to be sure it doesn’t start to turn brown. This heat-treating process makes the raw cookie dough edible. Don’t skip this step!

4. Add the salt to the flour.

5. Put the butter, brown sugar, and powdered sugar in a large bowl and mix until well combined.

6. Pour vanilla extract into the bowl and mix well.

7. Add the flour mixture.

8. While mixing in the flour, add in the milk. Mix until the cookie dough buttercream is a smooth consistency.

9. Use a spatula to fold in the chocolate chips.

10. Place the cookie dough frosting in a piping bag and cut a medium-sized hole at the tip.

11. Pipe the cookie dough buttercream frosting in a circle swirling motion on the top of the cupcake creating a swirl.

12. Place the mini M&Ms randomly around the buttercream frosting and put the Christmas tree icing candy at the top of the swirl.

13. Serve and Enjoy.


Note:

-This recipe makes enough cookie dough icing for 8 cupcakes.

-Do not fold the mini M&Ms into the cookie dough because the color will bleed into the frosting.

Notes
