Whether you’re having a winter birthday party, Christmas party, or celebrating the winter season, these cute abominable snowman cupcakes will be a hit!

The decorating techniques are simple and easy, but these winter cupcakes look like they came straight from the bakery.

These adorable abominable snowmen look like the one from Rudolph The Rednose Reindeer and will bring back those nostalgic memories from childhood.

What You’ll Need To Make The Abominable Snowman Cupcakes

Equipment Needed

Ingredients Needed

How To Make The Yeti Winter Cupcakes

1. Put 2 ounces of buttercream into a small bowl.

2. Put 2 drops of black food color in the bowl and mix until all the buttercream is black. Then place the icing in a piping bag and tie the end.

3. Place 6 ounces of buttercream in a new bowl, put 2 drops of the blue gel color in buttercream and use a spatula to mix the icing until it’s all one color. You’ll want this to be a light turquoise color.

Cover it and put it aside for later.

4. Place the piping tip inside of a piping bag. Cut the tip of the bag so the end of the piping tip can fit through but not so large that the whole piping tip falls out when you squeeze.

5. Put the remaining white icing in the piping bag and secure the open end. Place it to the side for later.

6. Using the ice cream scoop, scoop up some of the blue icing and place it on the cupcake. If the scoop is too small then add another scoop. This will create a mound to build the abominable snowman’s head on.

7. Place the candy eyeballs on the front of the buttercream mound.

8. Make a mouth below the eyes using the black buttercream, but leave a little space in between the eyes and mouth.

9. Next, grab your bag of white icing and pipe the fur all over the top, sides and back of the cupcake. Pipe some of the white buttercream in between the eyes and mouth. To get the fur look, squeeze the piping bag and pull outward from the cupcake.

You may want to practice a few times on a piece of wax paper just to get a feel for it.

Leave a bit of the blue frosting showing between the eyes.

10. Cut the red strip candy into a long half-circle shape and attach it to the black buttercream. This is the tongue.

11. Serve and enjoy!

Notes:

-Use any flavor cupcakes you like.

-Tip: Use the first half circle cutout to lay on top of the candy strip as a template so all the cutouts look the same.

-Don’t  add a lot of black gel color to your buttercream if it doesn’t turn a deep black right away. The buttercream will get darker as it sits in the piping back and while it sits on the cupcake.

-These cupcakes can be stored in an air-tight container in the fridge for 4 days. Be sure to remove the candy because the color may fade and the texture may change as the cupcakes come to room temperature.

-Any leftover buttercream can be stored in a freezer bag or air-tight container in the freezer for 10 days.
