Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup of Powdered Sugar
  • 1 Cup Butter Room Temperature
  • 3/4 Cup Brown Packed Sugar light or dark is ok
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Tablespoons of Milk
  • 1/2 Cup of Chocolate Chips
  • Mini Christmas M&Ms
  • Edible Icing Christmas Cupcake Toppers
  • 8 Pre-made Cupcakes Chocolate or Vanilla (cooled)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  • Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and spread the flour evenly across the parchment paper.
  • Heat the flour for 5 minutes, let it sit out to cool down completely.
  • Add the salt to the flour.
  • Put the butter, brown sugar, and powdered sugar in a large bowl and mix until well combined.
  • Pour the vanilla extract into the bowl and mix for about 1 minute.
  • Add the flour mixture.
  • While mixing the flour, add in the milk and mix until the cookie dough frosting is a smooth consistency.
  • Use a spatula to fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Place the cookie dough frosting in a piping bag, cut a medium size hole at the tip.
  • Pipe the cookie dough buttercream frosting in a swirling circular motion on the top of the cupcake creating a swirl.
  • Place the mini M&Ms randomly around the cookie dough frosting and put the Christmas tree icing candy at the top of the swirl.
  • Serve and Enjoy.

Notes

Do not fold the M&Ms into the frosting because the color will bleed into it.
