These cinnamon pinecones are so easy to make. Your house will smell like Christmas and you'll have a little rustic Christmas decor too!Rustic Christmas Decor Cinnamon Pinecones

It’s time for another DIY Blog Challenge!  For this month’s challenge I’m making cinnamon pinecones with a rustic Christmas decor twist.  Our theme this month is Christmas decorations.  I thought this simple little decoration using cinnamon pinecones would be perfect to have my house smelling like the holidays and looking festive!

This little rustic Christmas decor is so easy to make!  You’re going to love it!

I know you’ve probably seen those cinnamon pinecones in the store at Christmas time.  This is a way to make them for practically free.  In all honesty, I had everything at home to make this whole rustic Christmas decor project.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Pinecones
  • Cinnamon
  • Spray adhesive
  • Glass container
  • Ribbon

Here’s how to make the cinnamon pinecones:

  • To be sure there are no bugs, you should bake your pinecones at 200 degrees for 30-45 minutes.  Place them on an aluminum foil covered cookie sheet.  Be sure to keep an eye on them so they don’t scorch!  Let them cool for a few minutes.
  • Use spray on adhesive and coat each pinecone with adhesive.
  • Place the pinecones back on your aluminum covered cookie sheet and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Allow them to dry completely. These cinnamon pinecones are so easy to make. Your house will smell like Christmas and you'll have a little rustic Christmas decor too!

Here’s how to make the rustic Christmas decor container:

You can use any container you have on hand.  My pinecones are small and I had this small square glass container that I got a flower bouquet in when I had surgery.  I tied some thin ribbon in a bow around the top and carefully arranged the pinecones inside the container with some facing each direction to create the look I wanted.

I have this sitting on my mantle and it smells like Christmas in here!  So easy and inexpensive!
